Mornings in the Bakery

Le Pain Quotidien would like to invite your classroom to our bakery as part of our Mornings in the Bakery program. Our Bleecker Street Bakery (New York City) & Fashion Island Bakery (Newport Beach, CA) will teach your intrepid young students the way our bakery runs, how our bread is made & what it means to be an artisan baker.

What the Visit Entails

Every visit will be tailored to appropriately fit the age of your students & the curriculum of your class. As space in our bakery is limited, your class will be split into two groups upon arrival which will allow every student to have a hands-on experience. In the bakery, students will learn & participate in the different steps of bread baking from ingredient selection to mixing, shaping to baking. At the communal table, students will break bread together while participating in bread-related activities.

Bakery Field Trips Criteria

To better serve our communities and due to a limited number of spots available, we ask that only public schools apply.  See requirements below.

  • Must be from a New York City or Orange County Public School (Kindergarten – 8th grade).
  • Have no more than 24 students & a minimum of 4 chaperones to accompany the class.
  • Can attend on a scheduled weekday morning from 10:30-11:30am or 11:30am-12:30pm .

Cost for Visiting Classes

Our Mornings in the Bakery program is free of charge so we may share the wonders of bread with as many students as possible
