Chai Tea Latte

(Makes 2 medium bowls)

With winter weather setting in, we couldn't be happier that our Chai Tea Latte is back for the season! Warm, complex and aromatic, this traditional Indian tea is delicious and comforting at any time of the day.

Masala Chai, or "mixed spiced tea," is a black Assam tea paired with spices like cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, fennel seed, ginger and black pepper.

Come on in and wrap your hands around a warm bowl of Chai - or, pick up a box of organic Masala Chai Tea from your local store and make it yourself at home!

  1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. When the water is boiling, turn off the heat and add the tea bags. Allow tea to steep covered for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove tea bags, squeezing them gently over the pan to release any remaining tea.
  3. Add the milk and maple syrup to the saucepan and mix. Bring to a simmer to warm the entire mixture, if needed.
  4. Remove from heat and divide between two bowls. Alternative method: if you have a milk steamer, add maple syrup directly to the tea and steam the milk separately. Divide the tea mixture between bowls and top with steamed milk.
  5. Garnish with a sprinkling ground cinnamon.
