Speculoos Latte

(Makes 1 Large Latte)

In the wintertime, some of our favorite indulgences include speculoos cookies and spread. With comforting spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, this Belgian specialty couldn't taste more like the holidays! So when it comes to our morning coffee (our other favorite indulgence), creating a delicious combination seemed like a no brainer. Cue the Speculoos Latte!

In this recipe, creamy speculoos spread melts instantly in a steaming espresso, which is then topped with steamed milk. It's easy to make and doesn't require any special equipment other than a simple stovetop espresso maker or espresso machine. This recipe calls for 3 shots of espresso, but if you'd like a lower does of caffeine, just adjust the speculoos and milk accordingly.

To steam the milk, simply heat it up in a saucepan, or use a milk frother if you have one. And here's a sweet idea: whip up a coffee-free version for a warming and festive nighttime drink!

  1. Prepare 3 ounces of espresso in a large bowl or mug.
  2. Stir in speculoos spread until it melts completely. It helps if the speculoos spread is room temperature.
  3. Steam the milk either in a saucepan or a milk steamer if you have one. Pour on top of the espresso-speculoos mix.
  4. Garnish with cinnamon and serve.

Wrap your hands around the the warm latte, sip slowly and enjoy!
