Between the summer heat and all of the outdoor activities that come along with the summer months, staying hydrated is a must. Yet, sometimes we all crave something a little more interesting than plain old water.

Skip the temptation to sip on sugary drinks when you're growing water-weary by adding a touch of creativity to your h20 routine with fruit and herb infused waters.

Flavoring your water couldn't be simpler and it makes all the difference in taste, appearance and even nutrition! From fresh cut fruits to muddled berries and herbs, there are so many possibilities. To get you started, we've pulled together some tried-and-true combinations to serve as inspiration for your own explorations in the world of flavored water!

Cherry Lime

Cherry-Lime Seltzer

Who said infused waters had to be made with regular still water? Ditch the artificially flavored seltzers you find on the supermarket shelves and make your own flavored seltzer by starting with a good sparkling water and adding a mix of bright fruits.

Sliced lime, sweet cherries and mint make for a super refreshing summery sip, but careful with the lime – a little goes a long way!

Blueberry Nectarine

Berry & Stone Fruit Coconut Water

Summer, meet your oh-so-refreshing match. Start by gently crushing a handful of blueberries at the bottom of the glass to release their flavor and color. Add some ripe nectarine slices and a few torn mint leaves, then finish with a good quality coconut water (we love Harmless Harvest).

The coconut water adds a soft sweetness to the drink, but for a more subtle taste, it could be made with 1 part water, 1 part coconut water.

Strawberry Lemon

Strawberry-Basil Citrus Water

We love the combination of sweet strawberries, tart lemon and cooling basil. Not only does it go above and beyond in lifting up your water game, but in the right container, it will also brighten up your kitchen table (or desk) in an instant.

Plus, the vitamin C in the strawberries and lemon add a healthy immune boost – win-win.

Watermelon Cucumber

Watermelon Cucumber Cooler

Both watermelon and cucumber rank as some of the most hydrating foods out there, so when you combine them and add water, you’re in for the ultimate refresher with this mashup. Once you finish, snack on the leftovers for an added boost!

With summer underway, we bet we’re not the only ones dreaming up our flavor combinations. What are some of your favorites? Tell us in the comments below!
