Rules of the competition

1. Organizer

 

The contest entitled “30Y Le Pain Quotidien” (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest”) is organized by PQ Belgium, acting under the name of “Le Pain Quotidien”, whose registered office is located at Avenue du Port 86C/103b, 1000 Brussels, company number 0810.307.316 (hereinafter referred to as “Le Pain Quotidien”).

 

Participation in the contest implies that the participant has read, understood and accepted without reservation the provisions of the present contest rules (hereafter: the “rules”). The participant may consult these rules at any time on the website. A written copy of the rules can also be obtained upon written request to Le Pain Quotidien ([ Havenlaan 86C/103b, 1000 Brussels]).

2. Who can participate?

 

Participation in the contest is open to all residents of Belgium who are at least 18 years old at the time of participation. Minors can only participate if they have written authorization from their legal representative.

3. Period

 

The contest runs from 30/10/2021 to 05/12/2021 inclusive, the deadline for participation.

 

Le Pain Quotidien reserves the right to extend or shorten this period or to suspend the Contest in case of force majeure. It will inform the participants as soon as possible.

 

For participation, the date and time of posting by the participant are decisive. Only entries made before the end of the aforementioned contest period will be considered.

 

Under no circumstances will late entries, for whatever reason (including, but not limited to, technical reasons), be considered.

4. Participation

4.1. Access to the Contest

Since participation in the Contest is online, there are no communication or postal charges. Participation is completely free and without obligation.

4.2 How to participate

Participation in the Contest is done electronically, via the participant’s (public) Instagram account or via the Daily Bread Facebook page.

 

To participate in the Contest, the participant must:

 

– Post a photo of a favorite personal memory showing a scene of him or her in combination with food,

 

– The photo must be posted on the participant’s public Instagram account or on Le Pain Quotidien’s Facebook page

 

– along with the hashtag #30ylepainquotidienbe (in the photo description).

 

Only photos posted in compliance with the above cumulative conditions will be considered valid entries and a contest entry. In case of non-compliance, the entry will not be considered.

4.3. (In)validity of the entry

Le Pain Quotidien reserves the right to disqualify an entrant from the Contest, immediately or at a later date, and to refund to the entrant any prize already received for participation in this Contest in the following cases

 

– the personal or other information provided is incomplete, incorrect or false

– any violation of these rules;

– any (attempted) fraud.

In any event, any organized and/or collective participation in the Contest (whether automated or not) will be considered fraudulent, as will any (attempted) modification of the Contest rules, by any means whatsoever (whether automated or not), aimed at influencing the result and the designation of the winner, and will therefore automatically result in exclusion from this Contest.

5. The prizes

5.1. General

Prizes are personal and non-transferable. Only the participant can recover the prize or use the voucher that is given to the winner.

 

Le Pain Quotidien reserves the right to award a prize different from the one initially offered, whose value corresponds to that of the prize offered.

 

The participant is not allowed to exchange the prize, either in cash or in kind. Non-acceptance of the prize, for whatever reason, shall not result in the awarding of any cash or other equivalent value.

 

Participants who do not win a prize will not be explicitly notified.

5.2. Weekly prizes

During the Contest Period, 3 (three) different winners will be selected each week from among the entrants who, in the opinion of a panel of judges, have shared the photo with the best memory in the week prior to the week in which the judges select the weekly winners.

 

The weekly winners will be identified and ranked by an objective jury composed of Alain Coumont and the country manager of Le Pain Quotidien Belgium.

 

The weekly prizes are as follows:

 

– Weekly prize 1: a cookbook by Alain

– Weekly prize 2: a voucher for 10 free coffees to go at Le Pain Quotidien.

– Weekly prize 3: a voucher from Le Pain Quotidien worth 15 €, valid for 6 months.

The vouchers can be used in all Le Pain Quotidien stores in Belgium.

5.3. Main prizes

During the period from 29/12/2021 to 05/12/2021 (hereinafter referred to as “Voting Week”), the public can vote for the photo of one of the 30 weekly winners that they think represents the best souvenir, via [insert]. Each person may vote once per day.

 

The grand prize winners will be the 3 (three) entrants (Weekly Winners) whose photos posted in accordance with these rules receive the most votes at the end of the voting week.

 

The prizes are as follows:

– First prize 1 (the winner of the week with the most votes): A dinner prepared by Alain Coumont for 11 people in one of Le Pain Quotidien’s establishments in Belgium, chosen by the participant.

 

– Main prize 2 (the winner of the week with the second highest number of votes): 1 year of free bread at Le Pain Quotidien, 1 loaf per week. To be picked up in one of Le Pain Quotidien’s stores, and always the same one, for 1 year in Belgium.

– Grand prize 3 (the winner of the week with the third highest number of votes): 1 year of free Le Pain Quotidien breakfast, for 2 people, 1 breakfast per month. To be picked up or consumed (when the restaurants are open again) in one of Le Pain Quotidien’s establishments, and always the same for 1 year, in Belgium.

The vouchers can be used in all Le Pain Quotidien sales outlets in Belgium, it being understood that the voucher must always be used in the same sales outlet.

The vouchers are valid for one year from the moment they are sent.

5.4. Delivery of the prize

Each (weekly) winner will, if possible, be contacted personally by Le Pain Quotidien via the social media channel through which he/she shared his/her photo in order to obtain his/her contact information (name, first name and address) to proceed with the prize delivery. Until the winner provides this contact information, Le Pain Quotidien is not obligated to award the prize. Le Pain Quotidien does not have to actively seek out these details.

 

Each winner will receive their prize by mail to the address provided to Le Pain Quotidien, normally within 14 days of the winners announcement. Delays in shipping/receiving do not entitle the winner to any compensation.

 

The time and place of the Grand Prize 1 presentation will be determined by mutual agreement between Le Pain Quotidien and the Grand Prize 1 winner.

 

6. Announcement of winners

The weekly winners will be announced on Le Pain Quotidien’s social media channels (Facebook page, Le Pain Quotidien Belgium Instagram page) each Monday following the week in which the jury selects the weekly winners.

 

Grand prize winners will be announced on 05/12/2021 via Le Pain Quotidien’s social media channels (Facebook page, [complete]).

7. Intellectual Property Rights

By participating in the contest and, more specifically, by posting a photograph in accordance with these rules, the participant confirms that he or she owns the intellectual property rights related to the photograph in question and/or has the necessary permissions to use the photograph in the context of the contest. The participant guarantees Le Pain Quotidien against any claim by a third party against Le Pain Quotidien.

8. Treatment of personal data

By participating in the Contest and, more specifically, by posting a photograph in accordance with these rules, the participant acknowledges that Le Pain Quotidien will use the photographs for the purposes of running the Contest in accordance with these rules. The legal basis invoked by Le Pain Quotidien for this purpose is the execution of the contract.

 

The contact information provided by the participants (winners) to Le Pain Quotidien will be used exclusively to contact them for the purpose of awarding the prize and will be kept for the period necessary for the awarding of the prize and thereafter for a period of 1 year to allow for the rectification of any errors in shipping, transportation and delivery to the winners.

 

Le Pain Quotidien may analyze your IP address or your social profile in order to fight against any possible distortion of competition and to verify that the participants meet the conditions to validly participate in the Contest, this data being kept until the end of the Contest. After this date, this data will be deleted from the participants.

 

Each participant has the right to access, correct, complete, delete or block all personal data provided to Le Pain Quotidien as well as, in certain cases, the right to object to the processing or request the transfer of personal data. This request should be sent to Le Pain Quotidien at the email address feedback@lepainquotidien.be along with a copy of the front of the requesting person’s ID card.

9. Civil liability

Except in the case of fraud or gross negligence, Le Pain Quotidien will not be responsible or liable for any damages, direct or indirect, resulting from participation in the Contest, the awarding of the prize and/or the consequences of its acceptance.

 

Likewise, Le Pain Quotidien will not be held responsible for non-participation in the Contest or for the non-continuous or uninterrupted operation of the Contest, due to technical or other problems.

10. Validity and enforceability of the rules

If any provision(s) of these Contest Rules are found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

  1. Applicable law and competent courts

These rules are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute relating to the Contest and/or the Rules will be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Dutch courts in Brussels.
