Festive bread combos

An essential part of the holidays: good food. To make things easy for you and keep the end-of-year stress at bay, we’ve listed some simple but tasty bread combinations. From starter to soup to main course: this is how you do bread.

Appetisers

No holiday dinner is complete without an apéro platter.

  • Our multigrain bread (slightly toasted flavour and crunchy seed topping included) would be perfect for the occasion.
  • Just like our Swedish rye bread with its rich, nutty flavour and malt-like notes.
  • Cut the bread, then add what you like best: guacamole, hummus, pâté, jams, ricotta, trout, or smoked salmon.

 Dinner

  • Our wheat sourdough bread is the feat Le Pain Quotidien is known for. Thanks to its well-balanced flavour, this bread goes with everything.
  • Cut into slices and serve alongside soup, salad, or cheese.

Speaking of cheese: how about an ever-tasty dish guaranteed to score during a holiday dinner? We’re thinking of a cheeseboard, of course, paired with a delicious trio of breads.

  • First up: our deeply dark rye bread. Dense, rich and hearty, its slightly sour taste is best paired with butter and fleur de sel.
  • Another cheeseboard essential is our multigrain bread with flax seeds, rolled oats, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds, plus raisins for a touch of sweetness.
  • And last but not least: our crunchy, flavourful hazelnut flute
  • Cut up all three breads, spread the slices across the cheeseboard, add some fresh fruit, and you’re all set.

Soup

Prefer to keep it light, so your guests have plenty of room for dessert afterwards? Then a hot, comforting bowl of soup is the way to go.

  • Especially when you pair it with our whole-grain or gluten-free bread
  • Cut the loaves into slices and place them around the bowl. Add a pinch of salt and a scoop of butter.

Who says simple can’t be festive?
