Le Pain Quotidien Issues Statement Regarding the European Chicken Commitment

Le Pain Quotidien is a plant-inspired bakery and restaurant brand that believes very strongly in making ethical choices on sourcing from field to fork for the good of our guests’ healthier lifestyle choices and the sustainability of our planet. These convictions are also applied to the animal welfare choices that we make.
We are constantly looking for opportunities to ensure that we are holding ourselves and our suppliers to the very highest standards and are, therefore, very happy to join with a growing number of voices by today making the European Chicken Commitment. The criteria laid out in the commitment provide better welfare for chickens, and will be achieved by 2026 throughout Le Pain Quotidien’s entire supply chain in Europe.
In France, we will go further and ensure additionally that at least 20% of our chicken meat volume come from farms that meet these criteria and guarantee the animals access to free-range.
