Maulia Sari's career is a testament to perseverance, passion, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Born on December 19, 1983, in Indonesia, Maulia's journey is one of remarkable growth, hard work, and impactful contributions.

Education and Overcoming Challenges

Raised alongside her older brother, Maulia’s love for cooking and the art of food was evident from a young age. She pursued this passion by enrolling in culinary school, majoring in food production at the National Hotel Institute, one of Indonesia’s most reputable hospitality schools. After completing her studies in 2003, she had the opportunity to enhance her skills through on-the-job training at the Hilton Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, in 2005. This experience laid the foundation for a career that would soon see Maulia make her mark in the culinary industry.

Upon graduating in early 2007, Maulia was offered a position as a commis at the Embassy of Indonesia in Chile. However, due to family reasons, she had to postpone this exciting opportunity. Undeterred, fate soon led her to a new chapter in 2008 when Alshaya held a massive recruitment drive. Maulia was fortunate to be among the selected few, landing a role as Commis II.

Her journey with Le Pain Quotidien (LPQ) began with her first position at LPQ 21st Century, where she quickly moved up to become Commis I at the Dubai Mall. Over time, Maulia’s exceptional skills and leadership qualities led her to take on roles at Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Marina Mall, eventually becoming a Kitchen Leader and Chef de Partie (CDP). Maulia became an integral part of LPQ's growth story, navigating both the brand’s ups and downs with unwavering dedication.

In her role, Maulia was involved in multiple facets of the business, from managing food safety audits and food costing to creating POS button layouts, overseeing inventory management, and conducting kitchen training. She was also a key figure in menu engineering and food tastings, always striving to ensure the highest standards in food quality and presentation. Her work extended to mentoring and developing current kitchen leaders, guiding them from their roles as Commis II to their current leadership positions.

Additionally, she had the honor of meeting Alain Coumont, the founder of Le Pain Quotidien, during the brand’s 30th anniversary celebration in Dubai. Assisting him in his cooking session with influencers was a milestone in her career—one that reinforced her belief in the power of passion and dedication.

Life Beyond the Kitchen

Outside of work, Maulia is an avid cook and craft enthusiast, spending her free time perfecting recipes and exploring new culinary techniques. She also enjoys watching movie reviews and crime stories on YouTube, indulging in her curiosity for storytelling and analysis. Our tartines

One slice of bread… and countless variations…. The slices of our handmade 2kg bread serve as the canvas for a myriad of seasonal ingredients. They come together to become our tartines, the Belgian take on the sandwich. Other than the closed-faced sandwich, a tartine is an open-faced version popular in Belgium. At once simple and elegant, our tartines bring taste to the table and delight to the palate. Did you know the word tartine etymologically stems from the old French, diminutive of tarte (tart)? The word tartiner in French literally means “to spread”; in our case: to spread butter, cheese, and ingredients on a slice of sourdough bread.
